I believe there is a small part of each of us who wishes they were feeling heard or understood. There are times when a person dismisses their opinion, their side of the story, or their feelings because they feel insignificant. Writing has been that for me-a place where I can take the time to explain my side of the story without judgement or feeling like I need to hurry up and get my point across. Maybe this can be a place where you can do that, too.
My life and experiences do not hold any more or less significance than yours does, but I do know that we are significant to Jesus Christ. Through my life experiences, I have learned more and more about Jesus, myself, and others and I want to share those with you. I want to express, with the help of this blog, some Biblical truths, funny stories or thoughts, sadness, joy, and wonders of this world. My heart will guide each blog and I hope you enjoy the journey with me!
The majority of my life I have lived in South Dakota. I am not sure what “average” is, but I will claim that I grew up in an average household-sometimes wealthy, sometimes poor-not popular, not less popular-siblings, pets, friends, hobbies…
I have gone to college more than I have had jobs. I have a bachelor’s in criminal justice-Human Services, and I have a master’s in business administration. After my undergraduate degree, I was a counselor for federal inmates. During this job, I felt the Lord calling me to join the Army and that is what I did-I was active duty for 4 years and was stationed in Fort Stewart, GA for the duration of my contract. When I was discharged, I made the decision to go back to school and get my Masters.
Currently, I am living in a townhouse with my German Shepherd pup named Chewy (I know, it is a pathetic name) and she, of course, is my best friend. I am 32 years young and am navigating this world just as smoothly as everyone else is! But no matter how smooth or bumpy the road is, we must be in relation with one another no matter our differences. I hope this can be a place where all people in all walks of life can be loved on, educated further, and saved by the Lord with His grace.
